Regional Resources
OneSTL is a collaboration to encourage and support greater sustainability across the eight-county St. Louis region. A dynamic network of organizations and individuals sharing ideas, expertise, and resources to meet our regional sustainability goals.
The Missouri Botanical Garden's EarthWays Center is a group devoted to an increasingly vital goal: conservation of energy and other natural resources for the future, otherwise known as "sustainability” — meeting the needs of the current generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
Connecting people, places, and planet
We are a green building community of practitioners and advocates that gives voice to a commitment to improve human health, support economies, and protect the environment through green buildings. We educate and advocate for proven and emerging issues and ideas in green building and sustainability.
The St. Louis Green Business Challenge, a program of Missouri Botanical Garden, delivers “Triple Bottom Line” results (fiscal, social and environmental) to businesses and municipalities of all types and sizes across the St. Louis region. The Challenge provides a forum for municipalities to incorporate sustainable practices that improve financial performance and engage employees and residents.
Climate Action KC is a nonprofit regional collaborative bringing elected officials, business and community leaders together to reduce emissions, invigorate the economy, promote public health and improve the quality of life across the Kansas City region. CAKC works to support implementation of the recommended strategies from the Regional Climate Action Plan for the bistate metropolitan area of 10 counties in Missouri and Kansas.
Solar Resources
The Missouri Botanical Garden is partnering with Midwest Renewable Energy Association, and iChoosr for the Switch Together group buy solar program. Interested municipalities should contact Kat Golden with Missouri Botanical Garden for more information. Registration for the program opens on May 27, 2026 for interested municipalities.
Switch Together
Renew Missouri advances renewable energy and energy efficiency in the state of Missouri. They advance legislation, organize statewide ballot initiatives, craft local ordinances, and represent renewable and energy efficiency interests before the Public Service Commission (“PSC”). Through education and dialogue, they promote energy efficiency programs, greater access to solar and energy fairness for low-income families.
Community Solar is an easy way for eligible customers to accelerate the expansion of solar energy without installing solar panels on their homes or businesses. Community Solar is a subscription program that allows customers to select a percentage of their energy usage they would like to come from solar energy and invest in new solar generation.
